Christian Pulisic was the star of the USMNT’s 4-2 victory over Jamaica, which secured their spot in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals. The captain not only stood out with a brace but also caught attention with his celebration after the first goal: the now-famous Trump Dance, a gesture that quickly went viral among American fans and sparked a wave of reactions on social media.

The match, held at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri, began with U.S. dominance. Pulisic opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a precise shot and struck again in the 33rd minute to extend the lead. His first goal was followed by the peculiar celebration inspired by the dance of President-elect Donald Trump, a move that has gained popularity across the country and thrilled the fans in attendance.  

In addition to Pulisic’s show, Ricardo Pepi and Timothy Weah also contributed to the victory led by Mauricio Pochettino. Pepi scored the third goal before halftime, while Weah, returning after a two-game suspension, netted the fourth. Although Demarai Gray scored twice for Jamaica, the U.S. team’s victory was never in doubt.  

With this result, Pochettino’s squad confidently advances to the tournament’s semifinals, scheduled for March in Inglewood, California, and secures their place in the 2025 Gold Cup. This match also marked the official debut of the Argentine coach, who aims to build a competitive team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
