One Dead, Multiple Injuries in Shooting at Kansas City Chiefs Celebration
At least one person died and more than 10 were injured on Wednesday in a shooting that occurred at the end of the celebration parade for the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl win in the city of Kansas City, Missouri, according to local media.
The incident took place in a parking lot near Union Station, Kansas City's central railway station, as reported by the local Police department on their social media channels.
The Police reported the arrest of 'two armed individuals,' although they have not yet detailed whether they are the shooters.
In the state of Missouri, it is legal to carry firearms in public.
Local media, citing the Kansas City Fire Department, reported that one person has died and that there are more than ten injured, some with gunshot wounds and others with injuries from the stampedes caused by the gunfire.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted a message on the X social network, saying, 'Praying for Kansas City.'
Thousands of people took to the streets of Kansas City to celebrate with their team the Super Bowl LVIII victory they secured on Sunday in a game against the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 25-22.
Minutes before the incident, a bus carrying the players - including singer Taylor Swift's boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce - had paraded through the city streets to celebrate the victory with the fans.
The singer, who attended the game in Las Vegas on Sunday, did not participate in Wednesday's celebrations.
