Alex Pereira Issues Warning After Dricus du Plessis Defeats Israel Adesanya
UFC 305 delivered great fights, with a standout performance from Dricus Du Plessis, who secured a submission victory in the fourth round against Israel Adesanya, allowing him to retain his middleweight title.

It was a spectacular event with constant exchanges of punches to close the night. However, a mistake by “Izzy” allowed the South African fighter to take his back, leading to a tap-out and marking Adesanya’s second consecutive defeat for the first time in his career, and his first by submission.
After the fight, Alex Pereira reacted with his characteristic seriousness, threatening to return to middleweight to take the championship belt from Dricus Du Plessis. “I’m going down to 84 kg one more time,” reads the Brazilian’s post, where he is pictured with the South African, raising his arms behind him.
The Brazilian originally debuted in the company as a middleweight, where he won by TKO against Adesanya, taking the championship belt at the time. However, in a rematch, Adesanya knocked out Pereira, ending his stint in the division due to the significant weight cut he had to endure.
For now, Alex Pereira will face Khalil Rountree Jr. in a bout for the light heavyweight title, headlining UFC 307, which will take place on October 5 in Salt Lake City.*
