Video - Manning puts off retirement questions
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is yet to make a call on his future after his team's Super Bowl triumph.
Peyton Manning will keep everyone guessing about his rumoured retirement, as the Broncos quarterback was hush about his intentions to either call it quits or return for his 19th NFL season after Denver defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl 50.
Asked on three occasions if Sunday was his final appearance, Manning deferred to a later date each time.
"You get asked a lot of questions," Manning said after accepting the Vince Lombardi Trophy. "You reflect on the coaches, family members, friends who’ve helped you get to…this point.
"I’m very grateful."
Although he did not reveal his intentions for the future, Manning promised he would celebrate by drinking lots of beer.
"I’ll take some time to reflect," Manning said. "I’ve got a couple priorities first. I’m going to go kiss my wife and kids.
"I’m gonna drink a lot of Budweiser tonight. I promise you that."
With the Broncos' win over the Panthers, Manning became the oldest quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to a championship at 39 years old.
He is also the first quarterback to win the Super Bowl as the starting quarterback for two franchises.
