The world’s largest martial arts organization is heating up February with another massive installment of its weekly series. ONE Friday Fights 143 takes over Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium once again on February 20, where 14 battles across Muay Thai and kickboxing will determine who earns life-changing US$100,000 contracts. The main event could even produce the next ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title challenger, as Israeli contender Shir Cohen goes face-to-face with "The Kayan Leopard" Vero.
World Title Hopefuls Cohen, Vero Meet In ONE Friday Fights 143 Main Event
A Main Event With World Title Implications
Shir Cohen steps into the biggest match of her career Friday night, facing Myanmar sensation Vero in a must-see main event.
Cohen, who holds a 10-1 record, finds herself on a six-bout winning streak. After winning the Road to ONE: Thailand 2023 tournament to earn her contract with ONE Championship, she rattled off three straight victories, including a unanimous decision win over former Lion Fight and Enfusion Champion Amy Pirnie. That led to a World Title shot against ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, but injuries kept delaying the match. Now, to get back into the World Title picture, she needs to beat one of the hottest athletes in the division right now.
Vero, a lethwei specialist, didn’t reach the global stage by accident. The 29-year-old has spent years perfecting a violent approach centered on brutal boxing exchanges and a left body kick that drops opponents. "The Kayan Leopard,” as she is affectionately called, is riding a two-bout winning streak, including a big triumph over Cohen’s teammate Junior Fairtex, and now, she hunts for her 30th career victory and a shot at Rodrigues’ belt.
A Technical Battle Awaits In The Co-Main Event
Former Rajadamnern Stadium World Champion Petapichat Apichat puts his precision striking against former Omnoi Stadium Champion Denkriangkrai Mavinn's southpaw wizardry in a flyweight Muay Thai co-main event that should satisfy technical purists.
Petapichat fights with purpose beyond personal glory – every victory honors his late father's dream of watching his son succeed in Muay Thai. That emotional fuel has carried him from poverty to prominence. Now 23, Petapichat owns a 72-11 record, and it’s his fight IQ that has separated him from Thailand’s other strikers.
Denkriangkrai developed his craft at his uncle's gym constructed inside a rubber plantation, where limited resources forced him to maximize efficiency. That background produced a southpaw specialist with 60 victories and a three-bout winning streak built on his devastating left body kick and ability to solve puzzles mid-fight. The 27-year-old thrives when opponents think they've figured him out, only to discover he's already adjusted.
Two Warriors Desperate For Victory
Another pivotal bout at ONE Friday Fights 143 features Nakrob Fairtex, who collides with Panrit Lukjaomaesaiwaree in a bantamweight Muay Thai thriller.
Nakrob earned his life-changing ONE Championship contract by knocking out former top-five contender Tagir Khalilov in June 2024. The Thai then even beat Dedduanglek TDed99 in his next battle to break into the flyweight Muay Thai rankings. But then, the Fairtex product went on a run of bad luck and now, after tough knockout losses to compatriot Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi and Japanese sniper Taiki Naito, he finds his back against the wall.
Panrit finds himself in a similar predicament. After a hot start at ONE Friday Fights, the veteran has cooled down, as he dropped tough losses to the likes of Antar Kacem and Krisana Dowdenmuaythai. Panrit is desperate for a win, and there is no better way to turn his luck around than by defeating a member of ONE Championship’s global roster.
