Novak Djokovic Urges Rafa Nadal Not to Retire
"You are leaving an incredible legacy. Thank you very much for everything you have given and for what you leave in the world of tennis," Djokovic added at the center of the court, thanking the organization for "all these amazing days."
Serbian Novak Djokovic was directly involved in the final tribute that the audience and the organization of the luxurious 'Six Kings Slam' exhibition paid to Spanish Rafael Nadal, who played the classic tennis match alongside the Balkan player.
The Belgrade tennis player, who won this latest unofficial face-off, emphasized that the experience with Nadal had been "a true honor" for him. "We have played many matches over many years, many times. Don't retire, stay a little longer," he said.
"Rafa, I don’t know where to start. I go back to our first match in 2005. Who would have told us that we would be twenty years later with sixty matches? This rivalry has been incredible, very intense," he continued.
"I hope we can sit somewhere, someday, on the beach and have a drink and talk about life and other things," Djokovic concluded.
