Pau Cubarsí Called Up by Spain But Is Reported to Be Sick
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided to call up Pau Cubarsí as a replacement for Pau Torres, who sustained an injury and will be unavailable for the UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Switzerland. However, the condition of the FC Barcelona player is reportedly not ideal.
According to Mundo Deportivo, citing internal sources from the Barça locker room, the young player did not train this Wednesday as he was feeling "unwell," suffering from vomiting and dizziness since Tuesday. This situation has forced him to take an additional day to fully recover and to avoid taking any risks with the facial injury he has.
In a statement issued by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, it was announced that Cubarsí "will join the Spanish National Team's training camp this afternoon to compete in the final two UEFA Nations League qualifying matches. The defender will join the rest of the team at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas and will train with the team tomorrow before traveling with the squad to Denmark."
Pau Torres' Injury
"The Aston Villa player arrived with muscle discomfort from his match against Liverpool, and after tests conducted by the RFEF's Medical Services, it has been determined that he will not be ready in time for the last two international fixtures of the year, thus avoiding any unnecessary risk," the federation said in a statement.
