Spain's Key Absences for Euro 2024 Semifinals
Spain will face the Euro 2024 semifinals with significant absences. Robin Le Normand and Daniel Carvajal will miss the match after receiving yellow cards in the quarterfinal against Germany, a game that also saw Pedri get injured and both Nacho and Fabián Ruiz finish with discomfort.
Pedri is expected to be sidelined after leaving the field in the 4th minute with a medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee, an injury confirmed by the Spanish Football Federation. This injury was caused by a tackle from Toni Kroos, who concluded his professional career with this defeat.
Le Normand and Carvajal, the latter being sent off in added time, were both booked during the match, with Le Normand being suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
Nacho, who had missed the second and third group stage matches due to muscle issues, ended the quarterfinal match in pain after coming on at halftime. Fabián Ruiz, who limped off and was substituted by Joselu in the 100th minute of extra time, also remains doubtful for the semifinal clash.
