Spain's win over Albania indirectly and mathematically secured spots in the Round of 16 for France, the Netherlands, and England in the 2024 Euros. Thanks to Spain's victory, these teams are guaranteed at least one of the best third-place spots, having already accumulated four points after the first two matches.

Even though the three teams still have one match left (Netherlands and France in Group D, and England in Group C), all three could potentially top their respective groups. Currently, there are two third-place teams with worse records: Hungary, with three points and a goal difference of -3, and Croatia, with two points.

With their qualification confirmed one matchday early, there are now eight teams guaranteed a spot in the Round of 16: Spain, Germany, and Portugal as group winners; Switzerland and Italy as runners-up; and the Netherlands, France, and England at least as the best third-place teams.
