Pedri Out for the Rest of EURO 2024
According to a statement from the Spanish National Team on social media, tests conducted by the Spanish Federation's doctors confirmed the worst fears: Pedri González has suffered a "grade 2 internal lateral sprain in his left knee," which will sideline him for a month and rule him out of the rest of EURO 2024.
Pedri got injured just 3 minutes and 30 seconds into the quarter-final match against Germany in Stuttgart, after a tough tackle from Toni Kroos. He tried to continue playing but the intense pain forced him to give up his spot to Dani Olmo.
Initial examinations confirmed he had a sprain, and further tests on Saturday confirmed it's a grade 2 sprain that will keep him off the pitch for a month. Despite the injury, Pedri will stay with the Spanish squad until the team's participation in EURO 2024 is over.
