Fierce Criticism of Foden: "He Should Be Off the Field"
A bad game from Phil Foden was enough for the British fans, who are not convinced by their national team, to rain down criticism on him.
The England team earned their first three points in Euro 2024 after beating Serbia 1-0 with a goal from Jude Bellingham. However, the British fans are still not convinced by their team's performance, and Phil Foden was the first to be singled out for his poor game, receiving several criticisms during and after the match.
Foden was practically invisible throughout the game. The stats show he didn't take a single shot on goal, barely touched the ball 64 times, completed 49 passes, didn't complete any dribbles, and lost the ball ten times. It was definitely not the best start for the Manchester City player.
"He should be off the field. He's ineffective in an England shirt," said former footballer Jaime O'Hara to Talksport after the match.
Despite this, Foden is a great player who had one of his best seasons with his current club, Manchester City, coming off as Premier League champions and being a crucial part of Pep Guardiola's setup. Foden knows he has the ability to be decisive in every game; now he just needs to prove it.
England will play their next Euro match against Denmark at the Deutsche Bank Park stadium on Thursday, June 20. They are currently leading Group C, just ahead of the Danes, who are in second place with one point.
