Fans Demand Spain vs Germany Replay Due to "Referee Error"
On the website "Change.org," over 370,000 fans have signed a petition to replay the Spain vs Germany match from the Euro 2024 Quarter-Finals, due to a handball by Marc Cucurella that wasn't called as a penalty.
Even after the central referee, Anthony Taylor, explained why the penalty wasn't awarded, the petition has gained significant traction, demanding a response and a solution for the "handball" that changed the game's outcome.
The petition's description details the situation, stating: "In the 106th minute, a clear handball penalty wasn't called when Cucurella blocked a clear goal opportunity with his arm. Referee Anthony Taylor allowed the game to continue, and VAR didn't intervene."
"These wrong decisions were crucial and could have changed the match. That's why I believe the Quarter-Final should be replayed," the petition argues. Should the Quarter-Final match be replayed, or was Anthony Taylor's decision the right call?
