Deschamps Doesn't Rule Out Kylian Mbappé Against the Netherlands
Some had written him off, but the French coach just said they will do everything possible to have him available. Will there be a miracle at the Euros?
Didier Deschamps, the French national team coach, has not ruled out Kylian Mbappé, who has a fractured nose, for the match against the Netherlands in the second group stage game of the Euro Cup.
"Everything is going in the right direction after this big 'shock.' Yesterday he was able to train and will do so again this afternoon. We will make sure he can be available tomorrow," he revealed.
"He's doing very well"
Antoine Griezmann, the French forward, couldn't confirm if his teammate Kylian Mbappé, with a fractured nose, will be able to play against the Netherlands in their second Euro Cup match.
"He's doing very well, the swelling has gone down, but we'll see at the last moment depending on how he feels," the Atlético Madrid player said in a press conference.
He also explained that the team will have to "adapt" if Mbappé is ultimately unable to play against Ronald Koeman's side and noted that "having or not having one of the best players in the world" with France "changes many things" in approaching matches. "That should also be part of our strengths," he added.
