Davide Frattesi Heaps Praise on Lamine Yamal and Rodri
Davide Frattesi, the Inter Milan midfielder, was full of praise for Spanish players Lamine Yamal and Rodri, whom he will face in the second round of the "Group of Death".
Frattesi, who started in Italy's 2-1 win over Albania, is clear about who Luis de la Fuente's two key players are, although he is always aware that Spain's strength also lies in its collective play.
"We're not just discovering Lamine now, he's had a fantastic year. A young player with this personality is destined to be one of the greats of world football," he said bluntly when asked about the Barcelona starlet.
He also revealed his idols in midfield, the Italians Simone Perrotta and Claudio Marchisio: "They are my two role models, who I look up to from time to time to improve my position because there is always room for improvement."
But looking at Spain, he was clear about who he thought was the most complete player: "Rodri is the strongest midfielder in the world."
In addition, the Roma-born midfielder, who broke out at Sassuolo and joined Inter last summer, played down the fact that Spain lost possession to Croatia after 111 consecutive games dominating in this area.
"If they're winning 3-0, I don't think possession is necessary. In that case, our first objective is not to concede goals so that they don't gain confidence," he said.
