Real Madrid Sidelines Lunin from Squad for This Reason
Andriy Lunin has been sidelined from the Spanish team due to health complications, a flu. It's expected that he will travel to London separately on Friday or Saturday.
With the Champions League final just around the corner, Real Madrid decided to take precautions and separate Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin from the team, as he had flu symptoms since the beginning of the week. However, today, Wednesday, the goalkeeper returned to training separately, as indicated by the medical staff that there was an improvement with the player.
Nevertheless, Madrid will continue with their precautions and send the Ukrainian goalkeeper to travel separately to London. This is to avoid any potential contagion with his teammates three days before playing the most important match of the season, the Champions League final at Wembley against Borussia Dortmund.
On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti sticks to the same plan he had from the beginning, giving the starting position to the Belgian, Thibaut Courtois, who has recovered well from his injury and is ready to defend the white goal next Saturday, June 1st. In response, Courtois mentioned that he has no issues and will play the match as the usual goalkeeper; "I'll be the same as always," Courtois affirmed.
