Real Madrid Player to Miss "Most Important Match" of His Life
Andriy Lunin opens up about not being able to prepare with the team for what he calls the “biggest match of his life".
After Real Madrid decided to isolate the Ukrainian goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin, due to a contagious flu, the goalie expressed his sadness about not being able to properly prepare with his teammates for the “biggest match of his life".
“It pains me not to be able to prepare for the most important match of the season and of my life with the team. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. Let's go for the 15th,” Lunin posted on his Instagram account this Thursday.
Real Madrid traveled to London this Thursday to play the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, June 1. However, Lunin was not with the team and is expected to arrive on Friday or Saturday before the match.
It's a sad story for Lunin, who had an excellent season with Los Blancos during this Champions League campaign and was one of the standout stars in the quarterfinal match against Manchester City.
