Mbappé is Real Madrid's Big Surprise for The Champions League
Frenchman Kylian Mbappé has sped up his recovery from a muscle injury to the left hamstring, originally expected to take three weeks, and just seven days later, he is part of Real Madrid's squad for the trip to Lille for Wednesday's match in the second round of the Champions League.
The forward missed the Madrid derby, and his return was anticipated after the international break, in the match against Celta de Vigo on October 19.
However, he is reportedly "feeling good," which means he could potentially play against Lille.
A final decision will be made on match day, Wednesday, after the pre-match training session in France, where Mbappé is expected to participate in at least part of the session with the group, having not trained at the same pace as his teammates on Monday under Ancelotti's supervision.
If his good sensations are confirmed, he could come off the bench against Lille, in what would be a special match for him, as it marks his return to France for a club competition after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
Additionally, his brother Ethan Mbappé plays for Lille, so they will reunite, regardless of whether Kylian plays or not.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is absent from the squad after suffering a left adductor injury during the derby against Atlético Madrid. In his place, Ancelotti has included Real Madrid C goalkeeper Sergio Mestre in the squad.
Real Madrid's squad list for the match against Lille:
Goalkeepers: Andriy Lunin, Fran González, Sergio Mestre.
