How Much Will The Referee of The Champions League Final Earn?
The protagonists of the upcoming UEFA Champions League final will not only be the players looking to bring joy to their fans but also the referee Slavko Vincic, who will be in charge of officiating between the tournament's top winner, Real Madrid, and the biggest surprise, Borussia Dortmund. However, the referee not only has a date with history but also a significant financial reward awaiting him.
Vincic will receive a total of $10,857 for refereeing the Champions League final, a considerable sum that stands in stark contrast to what the players would receive if they win the trophy, such as the approximate $1.5 million bonus the Real Madrid players would get.
For the other stages of the tournament, referees received the following amounts:
- Quarter-finals and Semi-finals: $8,142
- Group stage: $6,514
Meanwhile, the assistant referees will receive $3,257, and the VAR referee will get $4,342.
