Gareth Bale Surprises with This Message About Real Madrid
The former footballer, who was criticized in his later years for his lack of commitment to the club, left these kind words for Real Madrid.
Gareth Bale, former Real Madrid footballer, has affirmed that he still loves and supports Real Madrid and hopes that the team will lift the Champions League title against Borussia Dortmund this Saturday.
Bale, who is currently in London to attend the match, gave an interview to the British newspaper "The Guardian" in which he explained why he sees Real Madrid as the favorite this Saturday.
"The Champions League means a lot to the club and to the fans. It's the competition that is valued more than the rest. It's the goal every year. Even when it seems like they are eliminated, they always find a way to come back and win. It's that aura. It's like the other teams are fighting against the crest. It's the momentum, Real Madrid and the European Cup. Teams are afraid to face Madrid, and that's very important," said the Welshman.
Bale, especially in his later years, was criticized for his lack of commitment to the club, particularly for his preference for the Wales national team and his hobbies, such as golf, something he denies.
"I was there for a long time. I still check their results, I still love the team, and I still support them. Just like when I was a kid. I 100% hope that Real Madrid lifts the trophy. They understand the pressure and know what to expect, which is a great advantage," he added.
