Mohamed Salah is officially off the mark for Trabzonspor. The Egyptian forward scored his first goal for the Turkish club just eight minutes into the Süper Lig match against İstanbul Başakşehir before nearly adding a spectacular second with a long-range strike.
'The Pharaoh' needed three matches to find the net, with the goal coming in his second start for the club and his first in the Süper Lig.
Salah had previously started against Ferencvárosi Torna Club in the first leg of the Europa League Playoffs, while his league debut came off the bench against Kasımpaşa.
How Mohamed Salah scored his first Trabzonspor goal
The breakthrough came just eight minutes into the match against İstanbul Başakşehir.
The opposing goalkeeper failed to control the ball and spilled it into Salah's path. The Egyptian reacted quickly, recovered the loose ball and took advantage of the mistake to finish, despite a defender's attempt to keep it out.
The defender managed to get involved in the play but could not prevent the ball from crossing the line.
It gave Salah his first goal in a Trabzonspor shirt and handed his team an early lead.
Salah nearly scores a stunning second goal
The Egyptian was not satisfied with just opening his account and later came very close to scoring a spectacular second goal.
Salah unleashed a powerful long-range strike that was heading toward the top corner, but the İstanbul Başakşehir goalkeeper produced an excellent save to keep it out.
The effort was another example of Salah's attacking threat in his first Süper Lig start.

Salah needed three matches to open his account
The goal came in Mohamed Salah's third appearance for Trabzonspor and his second start.
His first start came against Ferencvárosi Torna Club in the first leg of the Europa League Playoffs.
The Egyptian then made his Süper Lig debut against Kasımpaşa, coming off the bench in the 58th minute. Salah created danger with his crosses and individual runs during his first league appearance but was unable to find the net.
Against İstanbul Başakşehir, making his first league start, it took him just eight minutes to change that before he nearly completed a brace with a spectacular effort from distance.
