The Special Clause in Osimhen's Contract with Galatasaray
Loaned for a season to Galatasaray, the Nigerian forward can leave the Turkish club in January if an offer comes from 10 pre-determined clubs.
Victor Osimhen was welcomed with a warm reception in Istanbul, marking a star arrival for the Nigerian forward, though his stay in the Turkish capital may not last long.
Faced with difficulties at Napoli and a challenging situation due to the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, a decision made by Antonio Conte, Osimhen found a way out on the banks of the Bosphorus, avoiding an unwanted transfer to Saudi Arabia. This solution is provisional, as he has signed a one-season loan deal with the Turkish champion.
Ten Clubs on the Radar
The situation is so provisional that it could even be shortened in January. According to Turkish site A Spor, a clause has been included in the Nigerian’s contract allowing him to leave in the next transfer window.
This clause would enable the player to negotiate his exit directly if offers come in from 10 clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and PSG.
Napoli would then be obliged to comply with their forward’s wishes, who has already requested a reduction in his release clause from €130 million to €75 million.
At 25 years old, Victor Osimhen begins his stint in Turkey with the hope that it will only last a few months before moving to a more preferred destination.
Unless the charm of Istanbul captivates him and he decides to stay for the entire season, much to the delight of Galatasaray and its supporters.
