The Premier League Has Its Eyes on Osimhen: "You'd Have to Be Crazy Not to Sign Him"
With growing interest in the Nigerian star, the British press has also turned its attention to him.
Galatasaray's striker, Victor Osimhen, continues to make an impact in both the Trendyol Süper Lig and across Europe.
"You’d Have to Be Crazy Not to Sign Him"
In an article titled "The Osimhen Saga," published by the *Daily Mail*, journalist Matt Barlow argues that it would be madness for the Premier League’s top clubs not to sign Osimhen.
The English writer highlighted the striker’s performance in the match against Tottenham: "Victor Osimhen has shown that one of the world’s best forwards is having one of his finest seasons at one of Europe’s top clubs. He scored two goals and easily could have scored two more. It was a spectacle for everyone. Premier League giants would have to be crazy not to sign him."
Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle…
The journalist also stated that several Premier League clubs need a forward like Osimhen: "We know Chelsea likes Osimhen because they’ve already tried to sign him. Arsenal might need a forward, maybe Liverpool as well. His arrival could also revitalize the spirit at Newcastle."
The article also mentions that Manchester United has invested in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but these signings have not delivered the expected results.
Galatasaray in the Race
The piece highlights that after Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Al Ahli failed to reach an agreement last summer, Osimhen’s arrival at Galatasaray was a significant achievement. Club president Dursun Özbek has promised fans that they will prepare an attractive transfer package with the support of sponsors, although he acknowledges it won’t match the £66.5 million fee Napoli received from Al Ahli.
Contract Until 2026
According to the British press, Osimhen renewed his contract with Napoli in December 2023, with a release clause set at 108 million. His contract with Napoli runs until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
This season, Osimhen has played nine matches with Galatasaray across all competitions, contributing eight goals and three assists.
