Osimhen Moves Closer to Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen’s transfer situation has been one of the most discussed topics in this summer’s transfer market. Although rumors linked him to major clubs like Chelsea, it seemed his future was headed to Saudi Arabia. However, according to recent reports by Fabrizio Romano, the Nigerian forward might be closer to playing in Turkey with Galatasaray.
Romano reports that Galatasaray has reached a preliminary agreement with Napoli for Osimhen’s loan for one season. This agreement includes full coverage of the player's salary, which ranges between $9.9 and $11 million, by the Turkish club.
However, the deal does not include any option or obligation to buy at the end of the loan period. The Galatasaray delegation is set to meet with Osimhen in Naples in the coming hours to finalize the details and secure the player's approval.
This potential move surprises many, given Osimhen’s status as one of Europe’s top scorers last season. The Nigerian forward was the Serie A top scorer, but his situation at Napoli became complicated after he requested to leave the club. In response, Napoli did not register him for Serie A this season, making it clear that he was not part of the team's plans, at least in the short term.
The relationship between Osimhen and Napoli has notably soured. The forward is not training with the team and has not been included in Antonio Conte’s squad, who has opted to use Romelu Lukaku as his main striker. The situation has escalated to the point where Osimhen is without a squad number and not registered in the Italian league, further complicating his desire to move to a major European club or even a Saudi Arabian team.
