What’s Next for Cesc Fàbregas: Eviction Over Unpaid Rent?
The current Como coach is facing issues with his rental property. His landlord claims he hasn't been paying rent, but his lawyer offers a different account.
Former World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas, now coaching at Serie A Como, is reportedly facing an eviction notice over unpaid rent at his luxury apartment in Bissone, Switzerland.
Fabregas and his family recently relocated to the scenic town, located just 15 miles from the Italian border and near Lugano. However, issues with the property have led to a legal dispute with the apartment's owners.
According to reports, Fabregas allegedly owes around 34,000 Swiss francs (approximately $37,500) in unpaid rent and additional charges. The landlords, frustrated with the lack of communication, have taken legal action and could potentially force Fabregas and his family out of the residence if the payments are not settled within a week.
"We tried to contact Fabregas' lawyers, but without success," the landlords told Italian media. However, Fabregas' lawyer, Roy Bay, has responded by stating that all rent payments have been made in full, although some were delayed due to "numerous faults and problems with the building."
Team Issues
Beyond his housing issues, Fabregas is also dealing with challenges on the field. His current team, Como, recently promoted to Serie A, has yet to secure a win after four matches. Despite their efforts, the club currently sits in 18th place in the 20-team league.
Como's struggles were highlighted in their most recent match, where they squandered a 2-0 lead with just 14 minutes remaining, ultimately drawing 2-2 with Bologna. Fabregas is joined by other former Premier League stars such as Pepe Reina, Raphael Varane, Alberto Moreno, and Patrick Cutrone as they work to stabilize the team in Italy’s top flight.
As both Fabregas' personal and professional challenges mount, the coming weeks will be crucial for both his living situation and his team’s performance in Serie A.
