Pulisic Sparks Passion for Milan in the United States
AC Milan, the seven-time European champion, has seen its fan base in the United States increase by 50% in the last season. The country, increasingly interested in soccer, is hosting the Copa América this month.
Milan, the Italian champion in 2022 and a Champions League semifinalist in 2023 under coach Stefano Pioli, now replaced by Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, is leading the growth of interest in Italian soccer in the United States, according to a study conducted by Men in Blazers, North America's largest independent media company, and YouGov, an international market research and data analytics group.
Milan has made notable efforts to establish itself in the North American market with commercial initiatives and impactful signings beyond soccer, such as Americans Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah.
Additionally, the Milanese club opened its first AC Milan Academy in Virginia and the Milan Junior Camp project, which will involve 24 North American cities, including those in the United States and Canada, this summer.
