Lautaro Martínez Wins Serie A MVP
Argentinian striker Lautaro Martínez has been awarded the Serie A Player of the Season, and he's set to finish as the top scorer with a comfortable lead over his closest rival.
"The Bull," rightfully named the best player in Italian football, led Inter as captain to secure a historic "Scudetto" that the "Nerazzurri" clinched with five games to spare.
With 24 goals and 2 assists, the Argentine is 8 goals ahead of Serbian Dusan Vlahovic. Although the Serie A season isn't over yet, with an Atalanta-Fiorentina match set for June 2, he's guaranteed to be the "capocannoniere" (top scorer).
Additionally, Alessandro Bastoni was named Best Defender of the Season, Turkish Hakan Calhanoglu won Best Midfielder, and Simone Inzaghi was named Best Coach, making Inter the team with the most awards this season.
The Best Goalkeeper award went to Monza's Michele Di Gregorio, who wasn't included in Italy's 30-man squad for Euro 2024; and the Best Forward was Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic.
