Juventus Hands the Reins to U19 Coach
Uruguayan Paolo Montero, currently the coach of Juventus' U19 team, will take charge of the first team after Massimiliano Allegri was dismissed for his poor conduct following the Coppa Italia final, which Juventus won 1-0 against Atalanta.
"The next two Serie A matches, the last of the 2023/24 season, will see Paolo Montero on the bench for the men's first team," Juventus announced. Montero played for Juve from 1996 to 2005, during which he appeared in a total of 186 matches.
"To Paolo, a Juventus legend on the field and now a bearer of Juventus DNA on the bench, we extend our best wishes for this period," the statement added.
The coach has already led his first session with the first team and will make his debut on the bench against Thiago Motta's Bologna, with Motta being the top contender for the next head coach position in Turin.
