Breaking News: Juventus and Pogba Agree to Terminate Contract
Juventus and French midfielder Paul Pogba have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, making him a free agent starting November 30.
"Juventus and Paul Pogba announce that they have mutually decided to terminate the sports performance contract as of November 30, 2024. The 'Juve' wishes Paul all the best in his professional future," the club announced.
The player also made his departure official with a message on social media:
"There are moments when things don’t go as we want, but one thing is certain: the bond I have with you, dear fans, will remain unforgettable. You have given me so much, more than I can express in words, and I will always carry the love you gave me in my heart. You will always be in my heart. Best of luck, Juventus," he posted on Instagram.
Pogba, 31, will be eligible to play again starting in March for any team, as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his doping suspension from four years to 18 months, initially imposed in September 2023.
The 'Octopus' expressed his desire to return to play for 'Juve' in March once his suspension ends, but the club had always hinted at its intention to terminate his contract.
Pogba will be able to train starting in January and play from March onwards. The MLS, particularly Inter Miami, appears to be the most likely destination for the French international.
