Álvaro Morata Injury: How Long Will He Be Out and Which Matches Will He Miss?
The Spanish forward had a bittersweet debut with AC Milan. He led the team's comeback with a goal but ended up injured. Now we know how long he'll be out.
Spanish forward Álvaro Morata, the new striker for AC Milan, had a bittersweet debut with his new team last Saturday in his first appearance as a 'rossonero' against Torino (2-2).
In the match, he scored and led his team's comeback to secure a last-minute draw, but he ended up injured.
It has now been revealed that the Spanish striker will be sidelined for 2 to 3 weeks due to a quadriceps injury.
According to Italian media reports on Tuesday, Morata had already entered the pitch at San Siro for the last half hour with discomfort that eventually turned into a more serious injury.
This setback will force him to miss the next two Serie A matches against Parma and Lazio, both away from home.
Will he miss the Nations League?
His participation in the Nations League with the Spanish national team, where he serves as captain and is a regular pick for coach Luis de la Fuente, is also in doubt. He is certain to miss the match against Serbia on September 5th due to suspension and might not recover in time for the game against Switzerland on the 8th.
After earning a starting spot following his debut at San Siro, Serbian Luka Jovic and Swiss Noah Okafor will now compete for the central forward position left vacant by the Spaniard.
