Report: Guillermo Ochoa Headed to Brazil?
Guillermo Ochoa (38 years old) recently completed another adventure in Europe where he played for Salernitana in Italy's Serie A, a club with which he experienced another relegation in the Old Continent. However, the experience and stature of the Mexican goalkeeper have made a historic South American club like Corinthians target him as one of their goals in the transfer market.
According to information from the Brazilian outlet ge.globo, Ochoa is one of the options Corinthians is considering for the goalkeeper position next season. The signing of the Mexican, who would be joining as a free agent, is being considered because the Paulista team has lost Cássio Ramos and Carlos Miguel. However, in addition to the name of the Club América academy graduate, the management might also consider going for younger talent.
It will be until July 10 (the day the transfer market opens in Brazil) when the future of the Mexican goalkeeper is known. During his season with Salernitana, Ochoa managed 21 starts, achieved only one clean sheet, and conceded 44 goals.
Ochoa Magaña would join his eighth club in his career if the transfer is completed, having previously played for América (in two stints), Ajaccio, Málaga, Granada, Standard Liège, and Salernitana.
