Why is the Nike logo turned on Liverpool's new third kit? Here's the reason
Liverpool's new third kit has caused a stir with its vertically turned Nike logo.
This unique design is part of the "Together We Rise" collection, celebrating the advancement of women's football and its growing impact on global sport. The "distinct vertical double swoosh" on the jersey, shorts, and socks pays homage to the wing of the Greek goddess Nike, symbolizing speed, movement, power, and motivation. This distinctive design will be worn by both the men's and women's teams.
Each third kit in Nike's "Together We Rise" collection is inspired by the club's history and identity, and Liverpool is no exception. In addition to Liverpool, teams like Chelsea, Tottenham, Atlético Madrid, and Inter Milan will also feature the Nike logo in this unusual position.
The kit is described as "rebellious by design," honoring the female punk artists who made history in Liverpool's music scene. It combines the club's iconic colors with a bold pattern and elements of the Liver bird.
Regarding Liverpool's performance with this new kit, the team had a spectacular showing at Old Trafford. In a decisive match, Liverpool defeated Manchester United 0-3 with an impressive final quarter-hour. Luis Díaz was the hero of the day, scoring two goals from two mistakes by Casemiro. The first goal came in the 34th minute, following a pass from Mohamed Salah, and the second in the 41st minute, with a spectacular shot after another pass from the Egyptian.
This debut not only marked the introduction of Nike's new design but also showcased Liverpool's strong start to the season, demonstrating their prowess both on the field and in sports fashion.
