Thiago Alcántara Make a Comeback After 10 Months Only to Get Injured Again
Thiago Alcántara, the Spanish midfielder for Liverpool, made his return to the field last weekend after being out for ten months, but unfortunately, he got injured again, this time with a muscle issue, and according to Jürgen Klopp, "it's not good news."
The Spanish midfielder played a few minutes in Liverpool's 3-1 loss against Arsenal last Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. It was his first game since April, after suffering a hip injury that has seen several setbacks.
"It doesn't look good. We had seen him training fine for several days, so we selected him, and he played a few minutes," Klopp said in a press conference on Friday.
"Now he has a muscle problem, we don't know the extent of the injury yet, but it's not good. It's not good news for him or for us," the German added.
Thiago's contract with Liverpool ends this June, after four years with the 'Reds' during which he has played 98 games. Now, his departure, instead of speculation, seems like a sure thing.
However, his participation has been hampered by injuries since last season when he could only play 28 games across all competitions available to Liverpool.
