Klopp Opposes VAR: "They Don't Know How to Use It Properly"
The Liverpool manager believes that the video assistant referee (VAR) is not being used properly but thinks that Liverpool will vote in favor of keeping it.
Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, has expressed his support for eliminating VAR but believes the club will vote to keep it on June 6.
In his final press conference as the Reds' manager, Klopp spoke about the possible elimination of VAR and the upcoming vote among Premier League clubs, initiated by Wolverhampton Wanderers, set for June 6.
"I don't think the club will vote against VAR. I think it will vote on how it is used because it is definitely not right," Klopp said on Friday. "For the way it is used, I would vote against it because these people don't know how to use it properly."
Liverpool has been one of the clubs most affected by VAR this season after a legitimate goal by Luis Díaz was disallowed for a non-existent offside in the Tottenham Hotspur-Liverpool match.
"I don't think VAR is the problem; the problem is how they use it. If you can't change these people, I would vote to eliminate VAR."
