Is João Félix Hitting His Prime at Chelsea?
Portuguese forward Pedro Neto has spoken highly of his teammate at Chelsea and with Portugal, João Félix, saying that Félix is “happy” and “getting better every day” at the London club, even though he hasn’t seen much time on the pitch.
“I’m with him every day, and he’s getting better and better. I was really happy to be at the same club as him; he’s an incredible player,” Neto shared in a press conference with the Portuguese national team.
Neto added that the former Atlético Madrid and Barcelona player is in good spirits, especially now that he gets to represent his country, even though he hasn’t been a regular pick for Chelsea this season.
At 24, Neto is one of the players called up by Spanish coach Roberto Martínez for Portugal's upcoming Nations League matches, first against Poland on the 15th in Porto, and then away against Croatia on the 18th. Portugal, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, only needs one point to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Neto downplayed the pressure, saying, “With or without pressure, Portugal will aim to win the match.”
