FA's Decision Over Enzo Fernández's Controversial Chants
The Chelsea midfielder now knows the decision made by the English Football Association regarding his racist chants during the Copa América celebration.
The Argentine Enzo Fernández will not face any sanctions from the English FA for a racist chant directed at the French during the Copa América celebrations.
The Chelsea player sang a few seconds of a racist chant against the French in a live social media broadcast, which led to negative reactions from his teammates, who labeled the act as racist and unfollowed him on social media.
Enzo apologized to his teammates and donated money to an anti-racism organization, so he was not suspended by Chelsea.
As the incident occurred while the player was with Argentina, the FA will not investigate him, similar to the case of Rodrigo Hernández, who was banned for one international match for his chants with Álvaro Morata about Gibraltar.
However, Rodrigo Bentancur, who could face up to twelve matches of suspension for a racist comment towards Heung-min Son, is under investigation by the FA, as his comments were made before he was called up by Uruguay.
