Erling Haaland breaks Premier League Goal Record
Erling Haaland has made the best start by a striker in Premier League history. After scoring back-to-back hat tricks in his last two games, the Manchester City star returned from the international break with a brace against Brentford.
The first goal came in the 19th minute after a slick assist from Kevin de Bruyne, putting City ahead at home. Brentford fought back to equalize, but Haaland restored City’s lead in the 32nd minute, this time assisted by goalkeeper Ederson.
With this brace, Haaland became the first player in Premier League history to score more than nine goals in just the first four matches of the season.
This performance came after doubts about his availability for the game, as Haaland had recently lost a close family friend, Ivar Eggia.
However, the Norwegian striker paid tribute to someone he considered an "uncle" by scoring twice in his honor, breaking yet another Premier League record with Manchester City.
