Ederson Nearing Move from City to Join Ronaldo
Ederson would be close to leaving Manchester City to go to Saudi Arabia.
Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson might be living his final moments with Manchester City as he prepares to move to Saudi Arabia and join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. According to English media, both the player and the club have agreed on his salary, which would be a two-year contract with an option for a third, worth 30 million.
However, negotiations still need to take place with Manchester City to determine the transfer fee for the "Citizens." It's known that Al-Nassr has been interested in Ederson since last summer, so this time it would be Ederson himself deciding to take on a new challenge and continue his career at another club.
Meanwhile, City is already considering a replacement. They might keep Stefan Ortega and extend his contract or make a new signing to strengthen the goalkeeping position, which has always been a headache for Pep Guardiola. The names being mentioned to replace Ederson include Mike Maignan from AC Milan and Diogo Costa from Porto, the latter being a key player for the Portuguese national team in Euro 2024.
During his seven years at Manchester City, Ederson played in 350 matches and kept 155 clean sheets. He also won the Premier League titles in the 2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 seasons, as well as the highly coveted Champions League title in 2023.
