Cole Palmer Dreams of Leaving His Mark on Football and Chelsea History
Eager to make his mark in both football history and that of Chelsea, Cole Palmer admitted that he feels capable of winning the Ballon d'Or in the future.
Cole Palmer's meteoric rise shows no signs of slowing down. A key figure in Chelsea's spectacular comeback at the end of last season in the Premier League, thanks to his growing influence in the 'blues' attack, the England international recorded 22 goals and 11 assists. At the start of the 2024-2025 season, Palmer continues this impressive form, with 6 goals and 5 assists, increasingly establishing himself as a key player at Stamford Bridge.
While the former Manchester City player is shining at Chelsea, the club's most important task will be to retain their jewel, who is under contract until June 2033. However, based on his own statements, the London club has no reason to worry. Palmer, with a well-defined career plan, expressed his desire to stay long-term. "I see myself spending my entire career at Chelsea. I feel at home, and I'm excited about what we can achieve together," he confessed in an interview with The Telegraph.
Palmer Aims to Make History
Transferred to Chelsea in the summer of 2023 from Manchester City, where Pep Guardiola did not count on him, Palmer is thoroughly enjoying his time at the London club and believes that this adventure could lead him to win prestigious trophies like the Ballon d'Or.
"If I work hard, I believe I can win it one day. It's a surprise to be recognized at this level so early in my career and to already be among the finalists for the Ballon d'Or. It's a great honor," said the 22-year-old, who is on the list of 30 nominees for the 2024 Ballon d'Or.
This is an ambitious goal, but not exaggerated, considering the immense talent Palmer has shown so far.
