Chelsea and Nottingham Accused of Failing to Control their Players
The FA has charged Chelsea and Nottingham Forest with "failing to control their players" after tempers flared during last weekend's draw.
The incidents kicked off at Stamford Bridge following a Neco Williams tackle on Marc Cucurella, which sparked a clash between players from both teams. In the end, three players were booked: Williams, Cucurella, and Levi Colwill.
"Both clubs are charged with failing to control the conduct of their players," the FA said in a statement. Most likely, both teams will be hit with a financial penalty. Additionally, Nico Jackson, who was seen slapping Forest’s Morato, won’t face any further punishment.
According to the competition rules, if six or more players from a team are booked (as happened with Chelsea), the club is automatically fined £50,000 (€56,000). This is the second time it's happened to Enzo Maresca’s side this season.
