Bruno Fernandes’ Kind Message to Erik ten Hag
In a brief message, the Portuguese international bid farewell to the Dutch manager, who made him captain in April 2022 shortly after taking over.
However, Erik ten Hag could not survive another difficult weekend, and after Manchester United’s fourth Premier League defeat, he was dismissed on Monday, October 28, by the club’s board. Thus ended a tenure that lasted two and a half years.
A Call to the Fans
Shortly after the news broke, Bruno Fernandes posted a message on his social media, addressing the manager who had always trusted him and made him captain. "Thank you for everything, boss! I appreciate the trust and the moments we shared. I wish you all the best for the future," wrote the Portuguese star. He then spoke directly to the Red Devils' supporters: "Even though this last period hasn’t been great for any of us, I hope the fans can hold on to the good things the manager did for our club."
In addition to highlighting his close relationship with the Dutch coach, Fernandes also acknowledged the achievements under ten Hag's leadership, recalling the two titles won: the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup last May.
