Mikel Arteta's Arsenal sign David Raya from Brentford.
Arsenal announced on Thursday the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford, exercising their buy option on the goalkeeper.
The 28-year-old Spanish player joins Arsenal after a season on loan at the London club, where he played 41 matches across all competitions and kept 20 clean sheets, earning him the Premier League Golden Glove for the 2023/2024 season.
"After a year on loan as a Gunner, I can finally say that I am an Arsenal player for the coming years," Raya declared to the club's media.
According to BBC Sport on their X official page, Arsenal has paid €31.87 million ($33 million) to Brentford for the Spanish goalkeeper's transfer.
Team coach, also Spanish, Mikel Arteta, emphasized the goalkeeper's "importance" during the past campaign and is "delighted" that he is now part of his team.
