Arsenal's Martin Odegaard Injured Ahead of North London Derby
What injury does Odegaard have? Will he make it to the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur? Find out here.
Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard is doubtful for Sunday's North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur due to an ankle sprain. Odegaard sustained the injury in the second half of Norway's 2-1 win over Austria and had to limp off the field.
“He has a minor ankle sprain. We’ll see what happens and what can be done,” said Ola Sand, the Norwegian national team doctor.
Odegaard's potential absence poses a significant challenge for Mikel Arteta, who is already missing Declan Rice due to suspension after his red card in the last match and Mikel Merino, who is sidelined with a shoulder fracture and won’t return until October.
This injury crisis comes at a crucial time for Arsenal, as they face Tottenham, followed by a trip to Bergamo for their Champions League debut against Atalanta, and then a Premier League clash with Manchester City.
