(VIDEO) Raúl Jiménez Assist Brings Fulham Closer to Europe
Fulham claimed their second consecutive Premier League victory by defeating Crystal Palace 0-2, keeping them in the race to finish the season in one of the top five spots, which would grant them a place in European competition next year.
Against a desperate opponent on the brink of relegation, Fulham showed no mercy, securing three valuable points that placed them level in fifth position with Arsenal, who still have their match of the round to play against Chelsea.
In a first half with few chances, it was Emile Smith Rowe who broke the deadlock in added time before the break. An assist from Mexican Raúl Jiménez set up the Fulham player, who didn’t miss his chance against Dean Henderson to put his team ahead.
Then, in the 83rd minute, Harry Wilson sealed the game with a left-footed strike from inside the box that Henderson couldn’t stop, unable to work a miracle to save Crystal Palace. The team will end the round demoralized and on the edge of relegation, while Fulham celebrates its proximity to the European spots.
