Messi's Secret to Staying on Top at 36
At 36, Lionel Messi is still in top shape and remains at the elite level of world football as one of the best in the game.
Ben Young, the head of strength and conditioning at Inter Miami, explained that taking good care of his body is the key to Messi’s success in staying at the top, avoiding injuries and muscle strains.
"Messi is the first to arrive and the last to leave, a true professional. He does his own individual activation and strength sessions and even trains the day after returning from international duty with Argentina. He has his rhythm, his routine, and that's why he's at the top and stays there. He meets all the requirements. He works hard, but also does all the recovery work," Young told the English newspaper "The Mirror."
"We always want to make sure players can perform at their best during the most intense moments of the match. We systematically expose them to various training stimuli that mimic the demands of the game, and when possible, we exceed those demands to ensure they are fully prepared for the toughest moments," Young stated.
Ben Young has revealed the secret, making it clear that at 36, Lionel Messi still takes care of himself like a 25-year-old player, prioritizing his body and physical fitness.
