Rennes Dominates and Defeats an Unrecognizable Lyon
Rennes made the most of their home advantage, defeating Olympique Lyon 3-0 in a match where the visitors looked unrecognizable and could do nothing against a team that capitalized on their opportunities.
In the first half, Rennes was relentless, constantly attacking Lyon’s goal. The first goal came in the 19th minute from Bourigeaud.
Later, Amine Gouiri capitalized on a mistake by the opposing goalkeeper to score an unexpected goal in the 21st minute, securing the local team's lead.
In the second half, Lyon improved considerably, but it wasn’t enough to overturn the score despite the efforts of their forwards and Mikautadze, the Georgian player who dazzled in EURO 2024. Henrik Meister completed the thrashing with a great goal on his debut.
