Nice Defeat Saint-Étienne 8-0 in Historic Match
Nice just put on a show against newly promoted Saint-Étienne, scoring eight goals to set the second-highest number of goals scored in a single Ligue 1 match, also surpassing the biggest win of the season, PSG's 6-0 victory over Montpellier on Matchday 2.
It’s also the first time the team, now led by Franck Haise, has scored seven or more goals in a game since October 26, 2014, when they won 7-0 against Guingamp.
Additionally, they became the first team to score at least six goals in the first half of a Ligue 1 match in the 21st century.
The biggest wins in Ligue 1 history:
- Sochaux 12–1 Valenciennes (July 1, 1935)
- Nice 8–0 Saint-Étienne (September 20, 2024)
- Marseille 3–10 Saint-Étienne (September 16, 1951)
