Mbappé's Outstanding Mid-Season Numbers
There's no doubt that Kylian Mbappé is one of the world's best players. The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been one of the most in-form footballers so far in the 2023-24 season.
The 25-year-old continues his prolific spell at PSG in this new era under the management of Luis Enrique. Following the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar from the club, Mbappé has emerged as the team's undisputed leader.
Since his arrival in 2017, initially on loan and later a permanent transfer in 2018, Mbappé became the club's all-time leading scorer with over 200 goals, surpassing the previous record held by Uruguayan Edinson Cavani.
In the current season, Kylian has scored 18 goals in Ligue 1, leading the league's scoring charts with a 10-goal advantage over the second-placed Wissam Ben Yedder. Additionally, he has netted two goals in the UEFA Champions League, navigating through the "Group of Death" with Newcastle, Milan, and Borussia Dortmund.
With the French national team, the forward has scored a total of 11 goals, including nine in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers, where France has already secured a spot, and two more in the new edition of the UEFA Nations League.
In terms of statistics, Mbappé secured two hat tricks in the year, both in the same month. One against Reims on November 11 (PSG won 3-0), and the other with the national team in the overwhelming 14-0 victory over Gibraltar on November 18.
Furthermore, the Frenchman has accumulated six braces so far this season (five with his club and one with the national team). In October, he achieved his best goal-scoring streak, finding the net in five consecutive games.
To cap off the year, Mbappé finished as the second-highest scorer in the calendar year with 52 goals in 53 matches (0.9 goals per game), just behind 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 53 goals in 58 games (0.9) with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
