Lille Comes Back at Home Against Toulouse in Ligue 1
LOSC Lille made a comeback at home during the seventh round of Ligue 1, defeating Toulouse 2-1 with goals from Angel Gomes and Mitchel Bakker for the hosts, while Zakaria Aboukhlal scored for Toulouse.
After beating Real Madrid midweek at home in the Champions League, Lille couldn't flex their muscles in the first half against Toulouse, falling behind in the 39th minute due to a goal from Aboukhlal.
In the second half, Bruno Genesio's squad showed why they beat the current Champions League champions. They turned the game around, first with a goal by Angel Gomes in the 57th minute to equalize and then sealed their victory in the 72nd minute when Mitchel Bakker scored on a counterattack.
With this win, Lille moves up to fourth place in the overall Ligue 1 standings with 13 points, just three points behind the leader, while Toulouse drops to the relegation zone, sitting in 16th place with only five points.
