Jonathan David saves Lille from defeat against Strasbourg
Lille and Strasbourg ended up in a wild 3-3 draw in their Ligue 1 match, with Edon Zhegrova scoring twice and Jonathan David adding one for Lille. For Strasbourg, the goals came from Andrey Santos, Emanuel Emegha, and Sebastian Nanasi.
In the first 27 minutes, Lille was all over Strasbourg, thanks to a quick double from Zhegrova that got the home crowd buzzing. But Strasbourg flipped the script fast, equalizing in just 10 minutes to head into halftime at 2-2.
The second half picked up right where the first left off, with Strasbourg coming out strong and nothing to lose. Nanasi turned the game around for them in the 68th minute. But just when it looked like Lille was done for, Jonathan David stepped up, scoring a penalty in the 84th minute to level things out.
With this draw, Lille stays in seventh place in the Ligue 1 standings with a total of seven points, while Strasbourg holds onto tenth place with six points, battling it out with the top teams in the league.
