Donnarumma's Initial Medical Report After the Brutal Kick
The Italian goalkeeper sustained a "facial" trauma with "multiple injuries," according to the initial diagnosis from PSG's medical team. He will undergo further tests.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma caused a major scare during the match between PSG and Monaco after suffering a brutal challenge that left his face bloodied.
He sustained a "facial" trauma with "multiple injuries," according to the initial diagnosis from the club's medical team. This follows a direct blow to the face by Wilfried Singo’s boot during Wednesday's match against Monaco.
The Italian international goalkeeper was forced to leave the game in the 20th minute at Monaco’s Louis II Stadium due to the injury. PSG confirmed in an official medical update on their website that Donnarumma will return to Paris with the team later tonight.
On Thursday, Donnarumma, who walked off the pitch unassisted, is scheduled to undergo further medical tests to assess the extent of the impact and the visible injuries on his face.
"He will need to remain inactive for several days," PSG stated in their update.
